What is our
mission?
The mission of
the Middleton Center - a specialized ministry of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian
Church - is to help people navigate the turning points of their lives
and to live more fully and effectively. Counselors offer professional
care with a pastoral concern, integrating the disciplines of
psychotherapy with religious beliefs and/or spiritual development.
The
Center offers a safe place for individuals of all ages to explore,
question, and grow. We seek to help those who wish to discover the full
potential that God intends for them both individually and in
relationship to spouses, family members, colleagues and friends.
Whom do we serve?
Some people come to the Middleton Center seeking relief from emotional
difficulties such as anxiety or depression. Others come to heal broken
relationships. Some come simply from a feeling of restlessness,
struggling with questions over the next phase of their lives or work.
Many have a connection to Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church; others have no
church connection. ALL ARE WELCOME and all will find competent, caring
professionals to support, guide and empower them.
Fees
Fees are determined by the nature of the requested service. Financial
assistance is available for those in need.
What is Pastoral Care?
Pastoral Care
is based on certain core beliefs: that all people are valued by God at
each end every moment of their lives; that God calls each of us to
wholeness and a life of meaning; and that God's grace is available to
everyone, counselor and counselee, to facilitate a process of healing
and growth.
The
Pastoral Care of the Middleton Center is not intended to replace the
loving and skilled support offered by the Church's pastoral staff.
What do we offer?
Services are provided in the form of individual, couple, family and
group counseling, support groups, seminars, retreats, workshops and
lectures.
